Hey everyone good news! I have finished up Tekkit 3.1 so we will be upgrading tomorrow! What does this mean for you? Better stability Improved performance FORCEFIELDS! Balkons Weapons Mod is back for those of you who like it IC 1.97. Which means working jetpacks AND machines that don't deafen you! A bunch of other things! You guys should also check out the new Technic Website! This is what I have been working on full time for the past couple of weeks. Let me know what you think! Also congratulate @Kimitsu Desu because his SGTekkit video was so good we decided to use it as the official Tekkit Video! You can see his video featured on the Tekkitpage on the new website. You can expect the update somewhat early in the morning eastern time. I will get to it as soon as I can. I have been up all night pushing all the new updates so I need some sleep. See you all then! Went ahead and updated earlier! We are now on Tekkit 3.1.1!
Wow, nice upgrade in both the server and the site. I can assume the "cutter upgrade" for forcefields is disabled?
I see you mentioned Jetpacks being fixed, but when I go to craft one, it immediately disappears from the crafting table. I guess they are disabled, or uncraftable?
If you were having lag issues we pushed an update to Tekkit today that should resolve the issues you were having. Enjoy.
Since the update I get random "End of streams", "Not enough data's", "socket write error" and most of all the everlasting "reset connection" errors in just a few minutes after joining. It seems to affect both my laptop and my pc. I can say that deleting the tekkit folder and clearing the cache is not solving the problems. My local network is, according to some basic tests between my laptop and pc, working fine. Testing the amount of packet loss to a local server yields 0% loss over many tests... Leaving me with a suspicion that it is either a client bug specific for intel processors (the only shared component between pc and laptop) and/or something server-y... The only problem is with the later that anyone I make contact with inside the server (when the connection allows me to) tells me that they are not experiencing these problems. Just reporting my experience, not trying to complain. Will keep looking for a fix. I am now inspecting the connection between my access point and the sgtekkit server. Maybe a bad router is messing things up along the way.
Just from hearing it in the chat, so don't pin me down on it I heard CTMIII are removed because in this version of tekkit, which the server is running on the moment of writing, CTMIII's are a bit buggy. I don't know the extent of the term 'buggy', but I assume it could crash servers. Nevertheless, I also heard the benches will return with inventory. But that is just something I picked up between FORTH-ing and mining runs in the nether. So, consider that a rumor until confirmed.
I don't see how the CTIII inventories will be returned since the mod was removed from one patch. To my knowledge (and experience) when that happens anything attached to that mod is lost, even after said mod's been reinstalled.
That's sad, we need a reimbursement section where people can ask for their stuff back if lost because of a glitch or such.
Not sure what it's worth in a game like minecraft. Then again, our world is quite mined out. It might be something to change in future updates of CTIII, tying inventories to character akin to Enderchests in the event something like this happens. Then again, it could make the 'value' of CTIIIs skyrocket. If only I knew how to mod Minecraft. Would totally contribute to Tekkit.
