My names tendragon (not really but you get the idea) I originally played on scourgecraft the sister sever of this but with it being shut down I decided to give this a try. So what is tekkit about?

Okay great if only less saddening events brought me here also where can I download tekkit? And what's the server ip? Please no one loose it on me for not already knowing these things this was a kinda spur of the moment thing.

Kew I'm doing this from my iPod so I can't view most of the stuff I'm sorry but I figured it won't hurt to ask. So once I download it then what?

Also when I tried logging in it said it was outdated now what?

Make sure to update your Tekkit client to 3.1.2 in the "Options" section of the launcher.

Idk how to bring up the launcher but I think I already have that.

The launcher is what you would click on to play Tekkit. The program. There's an options menu there somewhere.

I only got a folder when I downloaded it.

Just download either the exe or jar from technicpack.net and run it. If the .jar isn't working, make sure you've got Java path'd. Worst case you should be able to "OPEN WITH" the Java SE library (right click, open with, choose java).

I don't understand tech stuff very well could you maybe dumb this down for me... like a lot.

I did all that but when I logged in it said that the server was outdated. Also when you say select do you mean in minecraft select this server or select the tekkit thingy in the file? Sorry but again I'm not very good with computers, thanks for being patient with me.

Also do I still have to apply in the forums to get whitelisted?

You need to apply to be whitelisted.

Here are somethings you need to do:

1. Download Java 7.
2. Go on the Technic Website and download the Technic Launcher.
3. Run Technic Launcer. It is a standalone launcher like SpoutCraft. Run the program.
4. Sign in with your Minecraft Account.
5. Select the Tekkit modpack in the drop box in the top left corner. It will install all of the Tekkit mods into your minecraft.jar that came with the Tekkit launcher.
6. Type in the IP and connect.

It shouldn't say the server is outdated, but the fact you've got it installed and all that is good.

Yes, you should still have to apply to join the forums by going through the app process. Just make sure you read the top post that says "READ THIS BEFORE APPLYING" or something like that before making your app. The devil is in the details. Also, read the rules, look over the wiki and familiarize yourself as much as possible with Industrialcraft 2 as that is a chief mod that is used here. Once you feel that you sort of have a grasp of it, move on to redpower. If it's too much, don't worry. There are plenty of people who are great with helping out when you're ready to take on advanced stuff.

4. Did that does it matter that I use the downloaded version?
5. So I search for the minecraft jar file and drag the whole tekkit folder into the mod folder in the jar file?
